Dear lovers of Elsie k. powell house…

We invite you to take a minute; right now, to picture your favorite part of PoHo…

Or, it could be a person who’s facilitated a retreat, a staff member—past or present, or someone you met during an event here. Maybe you hold fondly a specific program, with effects that have rippled through the months and years of your life since your experience here. No matter what you’re thinking, we expect that we can all agree that Powell House is a special place!

An important thing that we’d like to do this spring is to insure the ongoing availability of scholarship funds that support the participation of many here at Powell House programs and retreats. Our policy is that everyone who wants to attend a conference is welcome, regardless of their ability to pay. We are able to have this policy only because of the generosity of donors like you who contribute to this Annual Scholarship Appeal. In previous years we’ve were able to provide more than $9,500 in scholarship to attenders in adult & family programs. In addition, more than $16,000 was given for scholarships to participants in the youth program.

If you are among those for whom $280 is an affordable amount for a weekend conference, please consider providing one full scholarship for an adult or youth who might otherwise not be able to afford a Powell House conference.

Or consider a partial scholarship. If everyone who reads this appeal gave even one-tenth of a scholarship ($28), our scholarship needs would be met. Your help will be greatly appreciated by us and by the young person or adult who benefits from your support.

Payments may be made by a check sent to Powell House or by clicking the “Donate Now” button on the top right side of our website.

Thank you for your support. We hope to see you soon at Elsie K. Powell House!

Blessings,

Dennis Haag and Regina Baird Haag, Co-Executive Directors
