for Powell House Adult programs:
- Individuals who pay $720 per person, per year, can come to as many PoHo programs as they’d like at no additional charge.
- Monthly Meetings who pay $1440 per meeting per year, can designate a different individual to attend for free at each PoHo adult program.
These both are yearlong subscriptions. They do not include youth program retreats, as those fees are based on a different scale. Your questions and patience will be appreciated as we work out the details of these changes.

We want our fees to be reasonable and related to our costs. We want to be able to sustain ourselves financially. However, we do not want anyone to stay away from our programs because they are unable to pay.
We are now using a "pay as led" system with three tiers: comprehensive, standard and reduced. People who have difficulty paying the reduced tier may still request additional financial aid.

Currently about half of our income comes from guest fees and rental income. The rest consists of donations from the New York Yearly Meeting, monthly meetings, many individuals, and the earnings of previous donations that have been invested. Financial aid for the youth program is primarily covered by the Mark Seiler Memorial Fund.

Playing in the Light:
Faith & Play / Godly Play Training for Quakers
Transform your First Day School or Friends school classroom, and nurture your own spiritual life. Learn and Practice skills to help children explore the existential limits of their lives through wonder, play, and core stories from the Bible and Quaker faith and practice. These stories are scripted and tested to work well with multi-age groups of children, as well as in multi-generational settings. A certified trainer will model stories, and you will have an opportunity to practice them with your peers.
Workshop facilitator Melinda Wenner Bradley is an accredited Godly Play trainer who works with Quaker meetings and Friends schools around the country. A founding member and the convener of the Faith & Play Group, she is a co-author of the Faith & Play stories. She works for Philadelphia Yearly Meeting as their Youth Engagement Coordinator.

Rise and Shine
The sun rises, the moon rises and new plants rise out of the ground. Bread rises when we start it well; our ideas and spirits rise when we treat them well.
What is rising in you?
We will make some homemade bread, plant some seeds and start some new friendships. And we will wait quietly to see what rises and shines in each of us.
